Meiner Meinung nach ein Meisterwerk. Kein Wort zuviel oder zuwenig. Schön mal was neues Altes gelesen zu haben.

This is 5 stars for the narrator. I've listened to a LOT of audiobooks in the past year, and I have never heard a reader like this! He has the animated tone of a true storyteller, a bard--and how perfect a style for this kind of book. He would rush when the action was rushed, he would gasp for breath, he would stutter, he would take a wry tone when it seemed necessary. It was a brilliant performance. I'm so devastated to realize that he does not read the books further in the series (or at least not the ones available at the Brooklyn Public Library).

The story itself is really standard fantasy, and I enjoy that genre, so I enjoyed it overall, much as the whole tale was much like others I've read. The reader for sure made this even more delightful. I'll move to the next book, a different version with a different reader, and hope for the best.
