Hannah and Graham

I get that this is a very popular hockey romance but I really dislike the third act break up due to lack of communication. That lost a whole half a star

I liked how Kennedy wove in serious themes of recovering from trauma. and the two main characters living their life and moving forward, even if we don’t get resolution on past traumas.

Super sweet love story, a bit challenging at some times but I loved the characters and the character development :)

Maybe a bit cringy sometimes but that’s ok

I liked this book more than I expected. I can understand why this book is popular on BookTok and Bookstagram. I liked that there was big drama or lots of extra drama for the sake of drama or to extend the plot. Hannah and Garrett were cute together.

Fun quick read, i really liked their communication
The book touches on some heavy topics, it has a good balance of taking the topics serious but not dragging the mood down too much.

I ate this romance up in one sitting. It was so cute. Love the fake dating and was kicking and screaming during the “make out” practice. It handled some heavy topics and balanced taking the topics seriously but not dragging the mood down too much.

Pros-
-Avoided the “were faking it and we both have developed feelings but are lying to ourselves” denial trope
-when he learns about her r*pe, he is so empathetic and patient in trying to help her reclaim sex
-lots of spice
-really brought me back to college

Cons-
-is a little 2015y on use of slut shaming throughout the book
-the hockey team has yuck moments & makes me uncomfy at times (he tells her to sleep in his bed because his friends may ‘accidentally’ grope her if they come back drunk and find her on a couch 🤮 🚩)
-at the beginning when he’s trying to convince her to tutor him, I don’t love how many times she’s said no
