A few poems really spoke to me but overall I didn’t feel a connection to the poetry. I’m obviously in the minority in my opinion on this and it is likely a personal reflection of my feelings and not that of the poetry itself.

I do not often read poetry. It’s probably one of my least read genres? But I picked this up because I love expanding my range as well as read more indigenous books. I thought this was a nice collection even if it went above my head most of the time lol.

A lot of these poems are a punch in the gut in the best way. Emotionally complex with striking language that haunts you.
