I love this book. The art is so stunning and weird. I am constantly thinking about all the different layers to the story telling. It’s so good.

The artwork was beautiful, but I also found it slightly difficult to follow along with. In the middle, I wasn't sure if I was going to finish it because of that reason, but I'm glad that I did. Overall, the storyline was riveting, and I can't wait for the second one!

My Favorite Thing Is Monsters follows 10-year-old Karen Reyes who has an obsession with monsters. One day, one of her neighbors dies and the police claim it was a suicide. Karen however thinks that there's more going on and searches for the truth of her neighbors death.

The art style personally wasn't for me. I could see why people love it so much, but there were moments in this book where it just came off ass messy. It was really hit or miss most of the time.

I think the biggest problem with this book is the plot. This is hands down one of those books were there was so much in book that could have easily been cut out. This book worked best when it was telling a story. In the book there's a plot line about one of the characters going through the Holocaust, and that part of the book was so well executed! It felt like there was a clear idea of what the book was going for. Sadly, most of the book meanders.

Also, it kind of bothered me that we're following the point of view of a ten year old. The main character felt way older than that, but maybe that's just me.
