I got this on Libby but I hadn't read the description - 4 people were waiting for this book and I think they need it more.

Really beautiful themes and Cariad's essays on coping with grief were really lovely. The histroy of how we grieve and the research done were very interesting. Occasionally I felt we delved close to cliche, but they are there for a reason! I cried!!

Although this wasn't an easy read, there were moments of lightness that made it less hard hitting than it could have been. Cariad's Dad died when she was 15 and the premise of the book is breaking down the idea of the 5 stages of grief, that you'll get over it and that it is ok to still be grieving a long time after a death. I will be recommending and placing this book into many people's hands in the hope it helps them and I will be keeping a copy close at hand too.

To anybody like me, who is still carrying their grief-mess, this book is incredibly helpful. Cariad tells her story with emotion and lighthearted humour, which really helps progression through the book. Although Cariad’s grief is different to mine (and everyone else’s), there are still many elements to relate to.
