Riley Sager has done it again with the twists and turns. The book was gripping from the very beginning and the last 150 pages had me on the edge of my seat! This book was such an enjoyable ride. Crazy and a little eerie but definitely would recommend.

2.8 ⭐️ Beginning was good but the end was too much, too many plot twists that by the end had low impact. Too many coincidences and not realistic, felt like the author was trying to fit as many crazy things into the book as possible. Very confusing at times and didn’t like any of the characters

I heard someone else say that there is a thing as too many twists, and I must agree! This book was so slow until the last few chapters when it pulled out the stops, and I just started rolling my eyes. It was so unbelievable and not up to Sager's standard, in my opinion.

I called the first twist that Virginia was actually alive, but I didn’t think that Mrs. Baker was Lenora. I also didn’t expect Kit’s dad to be the love interest that knocked up miss Hope this whole time. I didn’t really get why he and the real Lenora would kill themselves in the  collapse of the mansion. It felt a lot like Verity when we found out that Virginia was able to move and talk the whole time. And that Jessie knew this and discovered that she was the long lost granddaughter. There were too many revelations at the end imo. All the loose ends wrapped up.
