This dude is the worst man in this series!
So fucking manipulative with not just Kate but also with Cal, omg I hate him with a burning passion!!
He manipulated Kate into a relationship when he was well aware that she was a packet deal and he couldn't be in one place because bo-hoo he has trauma like everyone else.
And then he had the nerve to say she was holding him back, that her kid was holding him back.
He's abusive, period.
And Kate kept saying "What?". All the damn time she kept asking the same question, like, girl, are you dumb or something?

So so cute. Seeing Dean work through his trauma and be there for Kate and Cal was so adorable. Even though it only happened twice, I loved seeing Cals side of things as well.

This was absolutely adorable and I loved seeing Kate & Dean heal together and help each other. Might just be one of my favourite Elizabeth books! Cal and Dean really had my heart and I love how much focus there was on the struggles that came with dating as a single-parent. Dean's character development was so good, he went from a goofy single guy to someone who really seems up to raising a child. The third-act-breakup went a bit too far for me (like I'm still supposed to be rooting for them??) but that's my only criticism.

π§πΏπΌπ½π²π: single mom, small town
π§πΏπΆπ΄π΄π²πΏπ: mentions of aging parents, parental illness, childhood cancer, child death
I loved the book and it even made me shed some tears. This book is very emotional and warmed my heart.
What Dean went through really affected him and I expected him to freak out if something happened to Cal (nothing serious). Kate's son is very smart for his age, and I really liked how he conspired with Dean to win Kate back. I can't wait to show you what quotes I saved from this book.
