this one is a "series transition" book as i've been calling it. kind of boring, not much going on except to tee us up for what's to come in the next book and beyond.

These books were a real guilty pleasure.
I read them all, could not get enough, that doesn't mean they are good.

Okay. Overall I give this 3-4 stars. Im still unsure.
The story plot was good, and it continued right where we left off in [b:Marked|890|Of Mice and Men (Centennial Edition)|John Steinbeck|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1157748205s/890.jpg|40283] I was also very happy that some of the usage of fowl language has died down in this book, as well as the constant explaining of what happened in the first book.
I do however have some complaints #1 Zoeys love life. I mean yes in every book there is going to be guy problems and having to choose between two guys. But three guys? And the third guy, Loren, is a teacher!! I do know this is fiction and not real, but seriously even in books there are some limits, and if they are breached should be done at least done well.
That is my main compliant. These books (comparing to the first one) are usually easy to read but I did have a hard to getting into the book but I think that was just me. Towards the end of the book my attention was completely taken in.
I would reccommend this series to people who would just like something to read. Will continue the series.

* the plot is kinda cool
* neferet is awful and I knew from the start
* slut-shaming is not cool
* Damien is just a token, and that's not cool either
* Zoey is an hypocrite and lies too much
* Heath acts like a dumb 5 year old
* Erick should dump Zoey
* Loren is probably a pedo
* I don't like Zoey friends (except Damien, is probably the only one I like)

Again, this was not as good as when I read this as a teenager. Definitely more of a guilty pleasure read. I had fun but this was so bad.
