Mostly, this book was boring. The thing that tipped me over the edge was the 2 main boys obsessions with their weight. Fatphobia is exhausting in all forms! No thanks.

This book immediately grips you in from the first chapter and it was so much heavier than I anticipated. The writing style reminds me a lot of John Green and also gave me elements of 13 Reasons Why. I think this is definitely a book we should be reading.

"Sometimes we have to get lost to find our way."

I stumbled across Christopher Tantillo on TikTok and was intrigued and wanted to read this book and I am so glad I did. If you are a fan of John Green you will love Christopher Tantillo.

This book is so beautifully written and I could not put it down. Such a real and honest depiction of grief, loss, depression, anxiety and how those things can effect us and the world around us.

When tragedy hits no relationship goes unscathed. From his parents, his ex-girlfriend to his best friends all his relationships suffered and were damaged but no matter how much they love you sometimes it takes someone from the outside to see you and really be able to put you on the right path. That is what Aubrey was for Grayson.

I also loved that while the book had a "happy" ending it didn't end with everything thing in a neat little bow. It was realistic and a messy with there being work that still needed to be done. It just felt honest as we are all works in progress.

It's still early in 2024 but I have no doubt this will be one of my favorite books of the year. Can't wait to read more in the future from Chris.

If I could rate this higher I would! This was such a beautiful story! The writing was fantastic and super easy to read through. I felt like I was so invested right from the beginning and never felt like it went too slow.

My heart broke for Gray and everything that he was going through. But Aubrey is the one who truly captured my heart.

Grayson was 24 hours from taking his own life after losing his brother and watching all of the chaos around his life.

In enters Aubrey… reckless and unloved, and she’s ready to show Grayson how to really live life.

I loved both of these characters. Great development. Such a beautiful story! Can’t wait to read more of this authors books!!

DNF at 48% :(

This just wasn't for me. Usually, I don't mind the manic pixie dream girl trope, but Aubrey Fisher is painfully cliché.

"Life isn't easy--it's a puzzle, and everyone just trying to figure out how all the pieces fit."

The Night I Spent With Aubrey Fisher addresses some extremely dark subject matter (check your trigger warnings!!!)

I laughed I cried and now I am starting my "Ninja list".

This book gave me all the feels. It was heartbreaking, intense, funny, and much more. I recommend listening to the audio version as well. The narration was done by Eric Altheide and he did an excellent job bringing the characters to life, especially Grayson.

This was a 6 star read for me and is highly likely to be in my top 5 books for the year.

The Night I Spent With Aubrey Fisher tackles some extremely dark subject matter (check your trigger warnings!!!) in such a powerful way.

Grayson Falconi has decided that in 24 hours he is going to kill himself. After his brother died, he blames himself and the guilt and grief is just to much for him to bear. Enter Aubrey Fischer, troubled foster girl with dark secrets of her own. She takes Gray on a night of adventure designed to show him that there is still a life beyond the extreme depression and anxiety he is feeling.

When I tell you this book gave me all the feels, I mean it. It was heartbreaking, intense, funny, and so much more. At one point I even cried. As someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety since I was a teen, and while I haven't experienced it on this level, I could definitely relate to Gray and Aubrey. They are extremely loveable characters and I found myself rooting for them throughout the book.

Christopher M. Tantillo's writing is both moving and smart. I look forward to reading his new book, Keep You, that comes out in May.
