This is the last in the eight-book Invisible Library series, and it hurts to say goodbye to characters I’ve come to love over many happy hours of reading. The series ends on a hopeful note, and we’re told that the author’s next project is a vampire trilogy. She may or may not return to the world of the Invisible Library.
These books are about people who don’t just love books, they’ve designed their lives around books and are beyond obsession. Yet they’re so busy fighting the bad guys that they never get time to read! What I loved about the ending (not *really* a spoiler) is that Irene vows to spend more time reading, and that is my vow as well.
A delightful, engaging series - I’m so pleased I came upon it!

So it ends....? 👀 This book had more anger in it than the others, which is justified given the story lol. I love the absolute loyalty between Irene, Kai, Vale, and Catherine <3
My live reactions in the spoiler tag below!
Wow Kostchei, way to start...
Nooooo Coppelia 😞
Omg they actually sent people after her?
Lol why do people even try to go against Irene anymore. Those poor fake policemen
damn Bradamant used the Force on them XD
Who/what cut the paper communication??
OMG AUNT ISRA I forgot about her lol
wow this convo with the assassin is wild
THE ORIGIN STORY AGAIN
I don't quite understand it though, and why it's a bad thing?
Okay is this death carriage an Emily Dickinson reference?
A treaty at the halfway point? WHAT WILL GO WRONG
Bradamant's dead, and Alberich's dead, who's next??
SHE SAID SHE LOVES HIM GAHHHH
THE LIBRARY ITSELF IS AFTER THEM
Melusine said "fuck" XD
OMG SHE'S HER BIRTH MOTHER??
yessss Library exploration!
all the ghosts are gone 😞
I sped through the end of that lol, not entirely clear on the visualization of the liminal space
THEY ALL LIVED
and the Acknowledgements!! gives me hope
