DNF at about 20%.
God this book is horrible.
The writing, plot, cheesy weird romance, characters, pacing everything is tied loose and comes out like diarrhea when opened.
Save yourself the toilet and skip this shit.

Really well put together thriller, if a bit gory and violent (yes, I *know*.... It's a thriller). I followed along almost exactly with the way the author wants you to believe things are going to play out, and therefore thought I knew whodunit, but was wrong, and then was right, and then was still surprised. All without feeling like she had played me for a fool. Lieutenant Taylor Jackson is a great character to root for. I'm a fan.

ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS
(Taylor Jackson: #1)
Written by J.T. Ellison
2007; Mira/Harlequin (411 Pages)
Genre: suspense, mystery, series, fiction, serial killers
RATING: 3.5 STARS
I have been wanting to read All the Pretty Girls since it first came out. I love the suspense books that Mira publishing puts out, so I bought this one without even reading the synopsis. Many moons later, I actually got to it when a friend suggested a buddy read.
Taylor Jackson, a Homicide Lieutenant in Nashville, is keeping her relationship with FBI profiler, John Baldwin a secret. They now find themselves involved in the same case. They are hunting a serial killer, The Southern Strangler who viciously kills women and leaves the former victim's severed hands as a clue. Also chasing the killer is journalist, Whitney Connolly. Is just steps away from breaking it big and she thinks this case will help her get there. Getting closer to the killer might just be her undoing.
If this was a standalone novel I would probably rate it lower as there are so many questions about Baldwin and Jackson. As a series I am willing to wait a few books for the characters to develop more. I am also hoping that we will see more development in their relationship too. In this book it wasn't as present. You could sense the chemistry but we just didn't get much passion. As we did not get much of character or romance development I thought the plot and suspense would be stronger. This book was a bit predictable but it was interesting to see where it went and how it would get resolved. The killer's identity became apparent a bit too early as there were several clues. I liked Taylor but John seems a more intriguing character, so I do hope we see more of him in the next several books. I gave this book a three instead of a four because it was a goo book but nothing exceptional.

This book could have been shorter for everything that happened within it. There is a lot of action and moving parts for this book. There is so much that could have been summarized and left out that wasn't really necessary.
I enjoyed the book for the masterpiece that it is. It has soany moving parts and different POVs. Which with less can be more in this book.

All the Pretty Girls by J. T. Ellison
Book #1 in Taylor Jackson
4 Stars
Synopsis:
A serial killer dubbed The Southern Strangler is on a killing spree across the Southeast. At each new crime scene, he leaves a gruesome memento from his previous kill – the victim’s hand. Nashville homicide detective, Taylor Jackson, and FBI profiler, John Baldwin are hot on the heels of this sadistic killer while at the same time, Jackson is searching for a rapist who only attacks in the rain.
Review:
Very suspenseful with some great twists and turns and even though the plot involves death and murder, it is not to gory. One of the aspects of the narrative that I found particularly intriguing was the fact that the story was told from multiple perspectives, including those of characters who were ultimately killed off.
While the main characters are realistic and believable, I would have liked to know more about their backgrounds and relationships. As this is the first installment in the series, these details may still be forthcoming and I will definitely continue reading.
Ultimately, the identity of the killer is not surprising and it is not too difficult to figure it out. Nevertheless, his motivation for killing is one that I have not encountered before.

I liked the multiple stories twisted into one big story. Some of it was predictable, however the author left just enough suspense that you weren't certain of the whole story. The truth behind the motive of the killer surprised me. I did feel like a lot went unanswered as to how the killer was able to set up his intended "fall guy". As far as a series goes, I think Taylor Jackson is a strong, independent, successful woman, so I can see myself reading more books featuring her.

I'm not really good at making reviews, but in my opinion this good is super awesome! I took less than 2 weeks to finish this suspense book. This is also one of the reasons why I'm kinda addicted to romantic-suspense novels. I recommend this! Shock it doesn't even get 4 stars. Amazing.
