Thank you to all the women who shared their stories and to Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah for creating this project. I learned a lot about myself through these stories, some things I’m less comfortable and happy with than others. I felt affirmed in ways I cannot explain and I will definitely keep returning to this book as the years go on

(This book is centered particularly on middle-class/elite/diaspora african women). Deeply interesting, empowering and refreshing. The world needs more books like this one.
