This was not just a story of healing, but for me, it was healing itself.  It feels silly to say, but it genuinely shifted my perspective on the relationships in my life.  Not to mention it had some pretty fire spice.  Not everything ended the way I wanted, but I think that was part of the point and it helped me come to peace with that.

This book switches between Nesta and Cassian’s POV. It’s life after the war with Hybern, the beginning is Nesta’s battle with herself and everyone around her due to her own traumas that she is trying to deal with alone . She starts finding herself throughout the book though (not a smooth process at all) and
Spoilerfinally learns to accept herself and all of her ugly and eventually accepts Cassian as her mate. She finds her own set of friends as well as earning her place back in the inner circle. Nesta IS the main character.
