remember how a bunch of baddies are introduced and then get cleanly felt with at the end of each volume? yeah that happened again.

After a couple of fairly drab editions, this collection of the Boys gets back to what it does best. The story is good with Butcher being Butcher and absolutely annihilating a group of supes in Butcher fashion. The back stories of the rest of the Boys is a great finish and there’s even a little cameo for Love Sausage.

Will proceed. Same reservations as ever with Ennis.

Truth time: I read volumes 4-12 in a weekend, and here's the weird part: I'll score each one a 3, but overall it's a 4.
How does this work?
I guess I feel like the whole arc was fun to read. It was interesting, weird, pretty transgressive, and you become invested in seeing how it all plays out. And without spoiling a thing, I can say that it has an ending that's satisfactory. Things are wrapped up, which is great.
So, while the individual parts are all a 3 for me, the whole is a 4. Go figure.

The best one so far, in sagas and tv, the max point reached by its creators (speaking of sequels) always comes in number 3, it's when enough time has passed to understand the world building and its characters. Although this one it's number 6, is when become what the first drafts and predecessors promised, what follows from here can go up or down.
