A fun, sweet story. Kate Winslet's narration was so good.

I loved this movie as a kid. I watched it all the time and still watch it as an adult. The book itself was okay. There was a part of the book that was triggering. Trunchball was more abusive in the book than the movie. The message and theme of the book mean a lot to me. As a child, who grew up with abusive adults, it great to see it was a warning in this book. It was inspiring to see Matilda get her happy ending dispute all the obstacles she went through. In a lot of articles online or the advice people tend to give children is to tell an adult, but what happens when all of those adults that we are supposed to be able to trust is toxic? I hope to meet someone like Ms. Honey one day in my life.
