Please reprint this! Decided to track it down because of the film “C’mon C’mon” and seemed it was only available in a small town library and I don’t want to give it back!

"Damn this book."
– Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix), C'mon C'mon (2021)

So beautiful, so poignant, so simple, so wondrous, so filled with life. Reminds me a bit of the movie Soul (2020), and just the beauty of living and experiencing everything, no matter the good or bad.

I searched for this book everywhere but couldn't find even a PDF of it somewhere buried on the internet. It's out of print and even the A24 reprint Special Edition is now out of stock, but there's a YouTube video of someone reading it, and I got to read this through the combination of that video, the archive dot org Spanish edition, and the excerpt from the gorgeous film C'mon C'mon (2021), which I am very privileged to have seen on the titan screen during a film festival this year.

To visit planet Earth, you will have to be born as a human child.

At first, you will have to learn how to use your human body, to use your arms and legs.

You will learn to walk, and run. To use your hands, to make sounds, and form words. There'll be so much for you to learn, and so much for you to feel. Sadness, joy, disappointment and wonder.

You will grow up, travel, and work. Over the years you will try to make sense of that happy, sad, full, always-shifting life you are in.

And when the time comes to return to your star, it may be hard to say goodbye to that strangely, beautiful world.

A wonderful message about being human with rich illustrations, but it's one of those picture books I think is more for adults than for kids
