Contains the plays:
Lady Windemere's Fan
Salome
A Woman of No Importance
An Ideal Husband
The Importance of Being Earnest
All plays except Salome are set in the 1890s London High Society. A running theme in the plays is love and honesty: the love of a mother to her child making her hide the truth or finaly telling it, the love between husband and wife being stronger even after some uncomftorvale truth has come out, the love of a newly engaged couple threatend by the truth.
My persobal favourit character out of all plays is Algernon from the Importance of Being Earnest, who is just a f-ing chaos gremlin and I love him for that.

My edition had the following plays:
1. Lady Windermere's Fan
2. A Woman Of No Importance
3. An Ideal Husband
4. The Importance Of Being Earnest
5. Salomé
Salomé was my favourite naturally. Although i would suggest people to do their research to thoroughly understand this. Read a paper alongside this to understand all the themes, motifs and symbols, otherwise it might not be as enchanting. I'm a mythology nerd so this interested me more than any other play. I was absolutely invested, even made annotations and notes throughout.
An ideal husband and a woman of no importance were my other favourites.
An ideal husband, i mean what can I say it's absolutely amazing! The Katherine vibes mrs. Cheveley gives are emmaculate!
A woman of no importance had the best twists and the best ending!
Surprisingly i really did not like the importance of being earnest. It was a little bit predictable, and i know this is my modern brain working because I've seen this trope before. This might have been the original material for this trope but all the same it did not interest me. I might want to see this performed to fully understand its charm. I thought the title was very clever, did not expect that that was what it meant.
Lady Windermere's fan was alright. Didn't enjoy it as much as i thought I would.
Honestly I would read anything this man wrote. All in all an amazing collection! Will be coming back to it many many times in the future.

This year after I've read his biography I finally read this famous Wilde's play :
"I've now realised for the first time in my lifestyles the important Importance of being Ernest ".
Such a fun read, a satire of customes, rules of civilty, etiquete and gender behavior in a hypocrite english society. What a delicious time a irish Oscar Wilde should've had writing this play. He plays with words ,his characters are shameless ridiculous , funny and at same time realistic and believable.
This is pure Wilde and does not disappoint.
