Voice actress Lacy Laurel did a great job with all the voices and the characters in this audiobook. She was able to portray the emotions of each character.
I was pleased with the audiobook; however, the content is another story. I had high expectations for this second installment. Still, I can't get over the fact that Leo thought the best way to help him feel secure was to leave his wife without notice with no help with the household bill, And he didn't even decide to come back but was called back and only started to try when he knew she had money.

I can't get over that; in a second-chance romance, we want to see the couple find that common ground and work things out. I felt like they didn't talk any of their issues out = they just wore each other out and got back together.

I hope that they aren't broke again cause then Leo is gone. He can't handle being unable to provide and has no issues leaving his wife when things get difficult.

I love Jodie, and I loved Bet On It. Play to win based on the description is a win. However, it was missing a little something.

It could be because my toxic trait is I don't trust men; I didn't feel good about Leo trying to get Mirirm back. First off, he didn't choose on his own to try to get her back - he decided once she called him back. I couldn't see the growth of someone who learned from their mistakes. I couldn't condone these two getting back together.

There was no true healing between these two, and for most of the book, they were apart until the last couple of chapters, then bam, all is forgiven.

The spicy scenes were spicing as they should. If we added in more growth and healing between the main characters, I could feel more satisfied with the reconciliation

I loved the premise of this story. I also loved the characters. The MCs felt very real and honest, imperfect people. I also adored the side characters, new and old. The friends and family members all really added so much depth to the story.

I think if I had to nitpick something about this book, it would be that I hoped we'd get a little more groveling, more push and pull, angst. Usually when it's a second chance romance/marriage in crisis, we get all that. And we did some, but I just wished for a little more. While I'm happy Miri and Leo got their HEA, I feel like there wasn't a ton of work put in to get there. But I can accept and appreciate that not everyone's journeys are the same. Having said that, I enjoyed reading this particular one nonetheless. It really was written so well; I was sucked right into the story and devoured it in a day.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press, for the ARC!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story follow Miriam Butler and her estranged husband Leo Vaughn. Miriam wins the Mega Millions Lottery and reaches out to her ex Leo after learning he may be entitled to some of the money since they have yet to be divorced. Miriam is offering a little payout to go ahead a finally get their divorce finalized while Leo is plotting on rekindling things with his wife.

While I enjoyed Bet on It I didn’t get the same feels from this book. I felt like a lot of the couples issues were still unresolved. I just didn’t understand Folgers reason for the separation and just felt like there was a lot missing plot wise. The author does have a great writing style that did keep me engaged but the plot was meh to me. Overall 3.5/5

Thank you St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

You would think winning the lottery would make anyone happy, right? Yeah, but for  Miriram she doesn't know what to do especially after having to now contact her estranged husband (yeah especially since she actually needs to divorce him so that he's not after her money. But for Leo her estranged husband of eight years, he just want this opportunity to earn her trust and to show her that he is enough for her. You can tell the pain the breakup that they each went through and how the other people influences them.

"I've loved you since before I even known what that meant..."

This story felt so REAL. Okay, minus the $200 million lotto winnings. I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance but Miss Jodie Slaughter had me with this one. First thing's first, Leo wins. Every. Dang. Time. As soon as he is introduced it is clear that he would do anything for Miri and I am a sucker for a pining male main, yes please!! This love story was so down-to-earth and so believable, which was honestly refreshing. I think Miss Slaughter offered an interesting point of view giving the reader insight into Miri and Leo's past and present relationship struggles through conversations with family members and friends as opposed to between the two characters. I also think she did an awesome job painting the picture that money, no matter what ungodly amount, cannot fix everything. I liked this one a lot, y'all.

Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC!! All opinions are my own.
