Not as good as the first Penderwicks, but still sweet and nice.

I labeled it as realistic fiction, but truly my only complaint with the Penderwicks (the 1st two books) is that it is a realistic fiction set, but the family honestly seems too good to be true so I think it is almost fantasy. It is that fabulous fantasy family where they are all so sweet and even when they are being naughty it is because they are ultimately trying to be helpful. Like the fact that the oldest child is doing many many chores and watching her younger siblings without complaint and without yelling at them or being rude. I was just not that good. I was no Rosy though I was often in the roles she had. Anyway, it is a nice feel good story about an adorable family that readers would love to join. Escapism for me, but maybe I am just jaded.

A sequel to The Penderwicks, this continues the story of the four Penderwick sisters and their schemes and adventures. Really well-written, this one was much more emotional than the first, and I liked it. The lives of a devoted widowed father and his daughters is bound to be pretty touching and this book pulls that off with wit, charm, drama, and humor.

This is the second Penderwicks book in the series and it is just as charming and sweet as the first one.  In this book the girls grapple with accepting their father beginning to date.  There are a lot of hilarious moments that had me laughing out loud.  The girls are headstrong with each having her own personality!  I love it!

A good follow-up to the first Penderwick book. These stories remind me of old fashioned books that were old when I read them as a kid. Good wholesome stories with lovable characters.
