the first in a series which i think has legs. We see young amateur sleuths try to solve a cold case with some degree of success. Although not all is quite as it seems. The plot is good with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. The need to pair people off and add romantic intrigue seems a bit unnecessary but i would definitely read the second to see how the author moves this on

First read: 3 stars. Second read: 3.5 stars.

I read this a couple years ago but it didnt seem to stick too well with me. I wanted to read the second book (and get ready for the third that is coming out pretty soon) so figured I should reread this one because I knew I'd just be lost otherwise. I enjoyed this more the second time around. I think because the twist at the end really comes out of nowhere, I remember the first time just being confused and unsatisfied when the book was done. This time I vaguely remembered what was going to happen so it made it kind of easier to swallow this time I guess.

There are a lot of continuity issues, but honestly that is pretty typical for these post "Pretty Little Liars" books. A lot of things like, "He threw his cigarette butt in the gutter... They continued talking while he took a drag from his cigarette." I try not to get too hung up on them so it doesn't ruin the other aspects of the author's storytelling that I do enjoy. But I definitely notice and try to just let it go haha. Just move on... Don't they have people whose sole job is to catch errors like that? How do I get that job?

Holly shit! I really enjoy this book. I wasn't expecting nothing and i didn't enjoy PLL but except for some dull moments the plot was good. A nice thriller / murder mystery

πŸŽƒ I read this book earlier in October and completely had the rug snatched under me! Lol. I really enjoyed the story and the creepy killer vibes. The characters were well written and the friendship they developed was real. 😊 The ending OH MY GOODNESS it killed me πŸ˜‚ I like how they were on a big wild goose chase trying to find the truth. Over all, I really loved this book and am ready to read the sequel! πŸ“š
