My second NOVEL OF 2018 and it was so GOOD!!! I’m ready for #BlackPanther in February!!! I highly recommend this novel for anyone who loves Black Panther/Marvel or for people who needs a little background in the Black Panther world before the movie!!! BRAVO RONALD!!!

this book is intended for younger audiences, so keep that in mind. this book was a cute story, but it wasn’t really engaging. since this is middle grade fiction, it’s not fair to say that this is bad since it’s really meant for me, but i just wasn’t interested in the plot or the character development. good for young readers but not much overlap for adult readers.

Black Panther: The Young Prince is the perfect middle school novelization of a beloved superhero. The story is fresh, the characters are well developed & the action keeps the reader engaged. Thanks for bringing these stories to tweens!

I was going into this thinking it was YA, so I was definitely missing some of the depth that’s been in YA superhero novels (like Jason Reynolds’ Miles Morales<\i> or Leigh Bardugo’s Wonder Woman: Warbringer) lately.
Some of the characters weren’t as developed as I would have liked, although Zeke and Sheila were pretty fun.
Overall, it was a quick, good read. It won’t be at the top of my favorites for this year, but it was a nice superhero book, especially for some of the younger kids who saw and enjoyed Black Panther.
