n a riveting thriller from the #1 bestselling Queen of Suspense, a young woman is ensnared into returning to the childhood home she wanted to leave behind forever -- and where her hidden past emerges with a new and deadly twist. Ten-year-old Liza Barton shoots her mother while trying to protect her from her violent husband -- Liza's stepfather. While the death is ruled accidental, the tabloids still compare Liza to the child murderess Lizzie Borden.

Not one of my favorites but still a good read.

4 STARS!!

I really enjoyed this one and wish it were made into a movie because I think it would be an good one. This was just as thrilling as Mary's other books I've read so far and I look forward to reading more of her books in the near future. :)

A solid thriller overall. The book read like a crime/thriller TV series which was really fun. I am impressed by how the author has managed to capture this feeling. The ending was also unpredictable unlike many new thrillers.

Just exactly what I expect from MHC--not disappointed, not wowed either.
