 I picked up Love Hard for a reading challenge prompt for a romance with AAPI main characters. I found the audio so that’s what I went with. And wish I hadn’t. The story was fine - Jake and Juliet attended the same highschool, didn’t really get on but years later they are partnered at a wedding and sparks fly - but the audio was not. I had two main issues. One was that the accents used for the dialogue didn’t sound authentic and weren’t consistent. The second was the totally mangled pronunciation of a Maori character’s name. My ears really rebelled with that one. Luckily I was able to find an ebook version. I don’t think I could have continued listening.
