Just weird balance of world building and cheesy, predictable plot with poor writing.

Okay so this book is actually two novellas with an interlude.  The first novella is from Lily Singers POV. And, it’s okay for a short story but I was expecting a small book instead.

Then the interlude is from her friend Sebastian’s POV- and I appreciated seeing more of him. He becomes much more dimensional. But, also I was just bored.  This wasn’t what I was expecting, then I saw that part two is back to Lily's POV but I just didn’t find myself caring enough to see this one through.

This is the first in a series so it’s not like we don’t know they both make it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
