Romantic suspense and I..do not get along. I have a really hard time setting aside disbelief when it comes to a suspense-type situation. Would a couple on the run for their lives really bang under a bush with bad guys surrounding them? Would an uber-alpha dude really be thinking about nothing but sex in the middle of a shoot-out? Eh. I think not.

So for the most part I avoid them. I ended up reading this one because it was in the Carina Press Presents: Vol I collection. While it did take a bit of suspension of disbelief, overall I enjoyed the story and I'm glad I read it.

Although I didn't read the previous books in the series, I don't feel like I had to. There was enough information here to make the romance work without knowing the backstory. I think I'm going to pick up the rest of the series.

Good, for a short story.
