no thanks. what on earth did i read?!?
there was absolutely no need for the scrambled eggs recipe just plonked in the middle?!? no thank you. and pugsly. laughable characterisation, terrible focalisation. very disappointing.
i understand it’s a diary and all that, and it’s supposed to be the whole party gals in the big city. but this was just not it.
and i was so excited too :(
also, absolutely no need for the constant mentions to their eating (and lack thereof) habits. just not required next time.
AND, What Was With The Unnecessary Capitalisation Of Random Words. (yes, sometimes it was warranted (in the instance of a Proper Noun, but most of it was irrational and irritating).
had a fun time reading sure, a good laugh.
also, to be fair, i had just read joan didion and eve babitz. my standards and expectations had been set very high. this is an incredibly biased, subjective opinion, but i stand by it.
