This is a great book that teaches about tolerance and the true importance of Thanksgiving. You should be thankful for your life and spend it with your friends and family. It does not matter what you eat.

A reminder that traditions are made by family culture, as well as the cultures that surround us.

Tuyet has been doing a lot of things with her class at school before they let out for the Thanksgiving holiday: making pine cone turkeys, singing turkey songs, learning about pilgrims and Native Americans. Their teacher let's them out at the end of the day and tells them to have a happy turkey day. When Tuyet gets home, her mom talks about the duck they are going to cook for their family. Tuyet is upset that they will not be eating turkey for turkey day. She even looks to see if she has enough money to buy a turkey herself.

Sweet story about how different cultures celebrate and how upsetting it can be to when it clashes with mainstream or tradition.
