A book about a book within a book in a city with a lot of books with forgotten stories...a literary delight. I am so glad I was able to read these back to back because the twists and revelations were so intricate I would have been lost waiting for the next book. If you love to have all your complex stories interwoven and wrapped up, then this will give you an expert showing.

The fourth and final instalment of Zafon’s masterpiece. Very long but never rambling, a thriller at heart but so much more. I will miss Daniel, Bea and Fermin.

I do so love this author. This book was satisfying and I am glad to have read it. Unfortunately, it did occasionally seem to drag, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. If it always moved at pace, it would easily have earned 5.

Good book. Interesting mystery/thriller novel. Long and fun to read. Wrapped up well. I enjoyed the first book the most out of the 4 in this series
