I liked the book, but I hated most of the characters.

The Price of Inheritance is not a novel that I would usually read but I was on a break from crime fiction and this was the novel that looked most appealing.
After losing her job and returning home in an attempt to rebuild her life Carolyn gets a job working for her old employer. It’s completely different to her job with Christie’s but she enjoys it, especially going to an auction and finding a gem. When she sees a bowl that is unusual she buys it. It isn’t her area of expertise but her interest is piqued and she is determined to find out its history and value. She tracks down the man who sold it but is uncertain if he can be trusted.
I enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book that I have read that takes place in auction houses and art history is something I know nothing about. I found myself resorting to the internet looking up the artists and museums mentioned.
I did feel that the characters were slightly stereotyped. All the military were brainless womanisers and a few of the wealthy were condescending but I liked Carolyn and William very much. I loved the sections that took place in the auctions, they felt very convincing. I could sense the tension that the people connected to a sale must experience.
An author that I would be interested in reading again, thanks to the publisher for the copy received via NetGalley.

The Price of Inheritance was not at all what I had expected it to be. I thought that this was just going to be another run of the mill romance book but boy was I wrong... This is a book with a little bit of mystery, suspense, and of course a romance with a smoking hot Marine. This book is an emotional roller coaster with a lot of highs and lows but it surely will not disappoint.

Carolyn is a rising star in the antiques world until one wrong move takes it all away. Unemployed she returns home and begins working at an old antique store where she comes across an interesting bowl during an auction. Carolyn is fascinated by the bowl so she begins a hunt for the original owner to find out more of its history. This hunt leads Carolyn to Tyler Ford, a hot Marine who everyone warns her to stay away from.

The Price of Inheritance was a well written book with some great characters. While some of the characters in the book you'd love to hate, they're written in a way that feels very believable. There were a few parts where the dialog seemed a little awkward but it wasn't enough to throw you of at all, and it past quickly.

*I received a copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest opinions*

Very choppy writing. Far fetched. I do not recommend.

This was a quick read and relatively enjoyable. I'm not sure why it's getting so many 4 & 5 stars. It was good enough but couldn't seem to decide if it was a Harlequin romance or a serious book about art, theft, and the class system. The ending was way too contrived.

I love this book! I won it off of one of the giveaways here on goodreads. Wonderful writing! I got an uncorrected version of it and it still was writing very well!

Story was different and refreshing. It still had the romance but it was told a different way.

Great mystery but gets a bit lost and in its own way at times

A rare and welcome combination of intelligence and fun in this novel. Mystery, a hunky bad boy, and Middle Eastern history - there's plenty of content here and reasons to keep reading!

If you read one book about art theft this year, trust me - it should be this one

2.5 stars. I'm sure there are people out there who didn't like the ending of this book, but I disliked it for different reasons. The MC never really learned from her mistake at the beginning. She blamed the rich old lady and the family whose table was stolen. She didn't develop her own sense of responsibility for the incident. From there she never improved. I agree with Tyler that she's too obsessed with the rich family next door. I wanted there to be something else involved with the bowl. IDK what, but yeah. I don't view reading this as a waste of time but it was just okay.
