I was not completely sure where the author was going to take this story. The ending of the 1st book was pretty epic and this one didn't start how I had anticipated. With that being said I absolutely loved where this story went. It was absolutely epic. I totally want a group of paranormal friends. The characters development in this story was so well done. I also never anticipated myself loving Hudson but that is now a reality. Thanks for this fantastic installment!

What a beast of a book. It had its faults, but points for combining originality with some favored tropes of mine. I could have done without the repeated “oh grace you don’t remember?” bs.. honestly.

What a waste of my time. I spent 6 months trying to read this. SIX MONTHS.

Normally, I would have DNF'ed 6 months ago, but I was annotating in the book (just like I did with the first one), so I kept going because I had to see it through.

Well, the cliffhanger at the end was so dumb. I guessed it within the first 15% of the book, so I was like, 'really, Tracy? THAT'S the ace up your sleeve?'

Grace and Jaxon were just as annoying, naive, and stupid as the first book, although Grace tried to throw in some #feminism towards the end, and Jaxon was very neanderthal about it all, to which Grace smoothed back his hair and swooned over his "open-mindedness". Ugh. Barf.

Hudson was one of the highlights for the first 20%, and then Tracy started writing him like she wrote Jaxon in the first book, cringey banter and all, and then I hated him. I literally only didn't hate Mekhi, who barely had anything to do in this book or in the first book.

Yet again we had the ol' 'let-me-add-in-a-new-plot-device-slash-conflict-with-very-little-time-remaining-left-in-the-book-because-I-don't-know-what-I'm-doing' trick again, which was so frustrating because the book was too long already, ok?!

600+ pages of complete and total filler. At least this book took place over maybe 2 weeks instead of FOUR FUCKING DAYS like the first one.

ANYWAYS, I will not be continuing this series. If you like it, good for you, but I will not be persuaded to change my opinion or dare to give it yet another chance.
