2nd read, and I still felt like I couldn't connect with the characters. I liked Ronan in the previous book. And I have this memory of liking Seth and Ronan, but I think that I like them in the epilogues and the extended family and that christmas story, more than liking them here in this book.
It just felt like, (despite the theme of these books and the angst), that their dynamic was NOT healthy at all. Everytime Ronan pulled away from Seth, not once, or twice, he did it over and over again. It doesn't make sense for Seth to accept that. I feel like it was a bit too late when Ronan started coming back to Seth. I dont know, this didn't work for me the first time, and it didnt work for me the 2nd time.

Sloane is one of my favorite M/m authors. She really makes you fall in love with her characters. There is depth and heart to every person that comes across the pages and she doesn't disappoint this go either. We meet Ronan in a previous book. He's got some secrets and some demons that he just can't get past and we get to meet Seth who is seriously a sweetheart who can handle his own. I loved Seth. I loved his heart for Ronan even with the drama surrounding them. What I didn't love and what kinda killed my love for this book was Ronan's back and forth. I didn't like the angst feel to this book. I understand why he felt the way he did but I wasn't a fan of his thinking it additude. But over all solid book and a fantastic series. I can't wait for Hawke

Wow

The feels. God. I hurt so much for Ronan. He'd been through hell and back and all I wanted to do throughout the story was give him a big hug.

Seth and Ronan's story was messy and so beautiful. I'm loving this series more and more with each book.

I love they way Sloane Kennedy write her characters. They have flaws and demons but also light and heart. She takes on hard subjects and TWs with a respectfullness that make me understand that not everything is black or white.

7 out of 10.
I enjoyed this a lot more than the first book in the series; felt like someone's tearing my heart little by little almost half the time. I just wished it didn't end in a sex scene (there's already way too much), but I feel like that's a trend that this author keeps implementing in her books.
