Goodness me I loved this book. Love, love, loved. Ho-lee cow. And I'm not even sure what it was that sucked me in, though I suspect it's my new found love for Tam (I'm sorry, David's a total twerp - just not my style at all). I also suspect a great deal of my adoration for this novel comes from the setting. Wow wow wow did Aprilynne Pike ever suck me in with the rich, detailed environment she set in Avalon - I wanted to be there hanging out on a hill watching everything going on and she did a brilliant job of bringing it to life in my mind.

I'm super curious to see where this storyline is all building to - I suspect a big clash, though I'm not sure who it'll be between (the trolls? the queen? the humans?) and I cannot wait to delve into it.

#TEAMTAM ;)

Started pretty fun and interesting but started to drag in the middle. I'm excited to learn more about the world the story takes place in though!

Spells is the sequel to Wings by Aprilynne Pike.

Laurel has been requested to come to the Academy to study for eight weeks. There she learns things she needs to know how to do as a role of a Fall Fairy. Things she learns at the Academy may even help her with Barnes. It’s been a while since Barnes has attacked, and Laurel knows that he’ll attack soon. Laurel loves David but is often drawn closer to Tamani when at Avalon. When she comes back home, her mother acts somewhat distant to Laurel. It’s not long until there is another troll attack where David and Laurel are saved by a mysterious woman, Klea. Laurel feels like she can’t completely trust her. Will Barnes get revenge? Will Laurel’s mother accept her for who she is? Will Laurel finally decide between David and Tamani?

I liked this book a whole lot better than Wings. In Wings, I liked Tamani a lot more, but in Spells, I found myself liking David more. What the heck, I like both of them.

Yeah, not for me at this time. No can do fairies and trolls for a whole series. Not sure if I will ever come back to it or not just because it's not my style.

I love this series even though its just a modern remaking of Romeo and Juliet. This book continues with the new discoveries of what it means to be a faerie. It has romance and the thrill of adventure. In this book though Laurel must choose between Tamani or David and also choose between living in the faerie world or the human world. For me personally I thought she made the wrong decision but there is another book so she could change her mind.

Good to see a lot more of Avalon, and the building of the relationships between the characters. Worth the reading with sure.

It was fantastic not only was the first book good but this one was just as good, maybe even better. I absolutely loved and couldn't place it down the three days it took me to read it.
