Stephan Fry is a phenomenal story teller! His retellings of the Greek myths and how they influenced (or were just straight up taken and had names changed) other religions, primarily Christianity is truly fascinating. I enjoy his dramatizations of how conversations between heroes and gods occurred and I really loved how he expressed the absolute lack of logic his subject(s) had. This book expands on the first of the trilogy, Mythos. Heracles, Jason, Oedipus and more take center stage with Stephan Fry narrating his own book.

an endearing, deeply informative and riveting retelling of some of the best ancient greek myths. i loved the footnotes and the background information, and fry occasionally taking creative license with each story adds colour and dimensions to the stories that black-and-white recountings or translations do not. the genealogical sections were at times hard to follow but fry does make it about as clear as possible! really really enjoyed this. 4 stars

Another absolute masterpiece following the first book of the series. I would dare say that this is a perfect sequel! Stephen Fry proves once again that he is master at storytelling and you can feel the passion he has for this subject in every written line. It's a real joy to read and I can recommend it to anyone, no matter if you have prior knowledge of greek mythology or not.
