An interesting travel memoir from Che Guevara’s early days. This is book one of two of his travels across South America.
Be warned that he had not quite reached his communist hey day in this book, but you can see the evolution of his upper class, Argentine upbringing begin to be stripped away. However, the memoir is strife with white savior complex and Spanish colonial classist ideals.

Read this because Che Guevara is from Argentina and I am starting to read books to prepare myself for my semester there.
Che Guevara uses classist, antisemitic, homophobic, and racist words to describe other people in this book. I wish the book had a CONTENT WARNING!
It is interesting how the times were back then and how Che and his friend saw Latin America. At many instances it is obvious that they are two privileged unreflected white dudes traveling without a clue.
I don't know much more about the revolutionist, but I want to learn more. I hope he learned to be more reflective.
