I really hate to do this because I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles (it's one of my favourite series ever) but ugh...this book...it's just not very exciting.

I really like Nova and she is pretty bad-ass which makes me want to continue reading but the other characters...and the plot, they're just not doing anything for me. I'm not really keen on Adrian or the other Renegades and the plot is moving far too slowly for my liking.

I'm going to put this as a DNF for the time being because I have tried picking it up again and then I quickly put it down :( I know I'm not going to read it for a while so I'm removing it from my currently reading list.

This book is so amazing! The author has you questioning which side you are on, and has the best and most complicates enmities to lovers relationship I have ever read! I love Oscar and Simon and nova and Adrian. There really isn’t anything not to like. And to who ever is reading this review, you should read it, or at least try it!

I loved this book; The characters were great and i really liked the plot and world building. My only complain is that it was pretty slow paced for a book that is 550 pages.

(2018) Original review: Expected no less from Marissa Meyer. I’m a sucker for “villain” stories. The main character is just put in a unique position where she can see the perspectives of both sides. Of course the way she was raised influences her overall motive. I guess that’s what I love about it, shows the good and bad parts of a world with “superheros”. I find myself agreeing a lot with Nova. I also love Adrian’s character, trying to become more than he is known for.
Overall 5/5 can’t wait for the next book.

Edit: Reread this book and although I agree with the things I’ve said before I also really don’t think the climax of the book was that good. It ends in such a weird spot. I still really like nova as a character, and I hope the books improve for the rest of the series.
