Solid read. I had been meaning to read this for quite a while and found it was a bit overhyped. I thought the writing was beautiful in some places but felt that other places fell short of the hype. First half read pretty slow but once you got to ~pg 85, it became a bit more fast paced.

Such a beautiful and deeply personal memoir that felt like it was being written for the author's own healing after the loss of her mom. I loved all of the bits about food and it's connection to her family and her own identity as a Korean American. A very real and cathartic account of watching a loved one die with advanced cancer, and the very complicated grief that comes with that-- I cried a lot and missed my grandma.
