Boring. Dull. Confusing.
However, the ending is good. Cliffy!

Favorite Quote: “I made this thing. Now I must die for it.”~ Aunt Kathryn

This one starts with mom leaving Evan with a great aunt he hasn’t seen in years and he keeps with the tradition of the annoying boy character in the R.L. Stine Series and it brings back the dog companion troupe from Welcome to Dead House. However Evan’s sarcasm makes up for his annoyance level.

Being left with a aunt who is deaf, doesn’t know ASL and refuses to read lips will definitely lead Evan to getting into whatever trouble he can dream of and who would guess the $10 bill his mom gave him would lead to all his troubles with his new toy Monsters Blood. A toy he found in a old novelty store.

The bully troupe annoys me so much because I greatly dislike bullies, however they definitely do the job, Tony and Rick.

This is the first book in the series that I don’t feel was a true page turner and the twist at the end was surprising but also not explained well enough. I still had questions about important details.

Classic Goosebumps. Very The Thing-esque.

I thought the characters were nice. Their personalities were cute. As far as the story line, I felt reminded of the first book, #1 Welcome To Dead House, because like that one there is a dog in this one too. And the dog's activities are mentioned throughout the novella. Basically, there's this monster blood in a can that Evan and Andy pick up at a very run down and poorly kept papa shop. First it's not for sale and then the owner gives in and sells the can for $2. Throughout the story, the monster blood begins expanding. There's also two bullies that Evan must endure, Rick and Tony Beymer. They're twins. I didn't mind reading this one the first or this second time, but I give it three stars for 'I liked it' because other than thinking the characters were nice and that their personalities were cute, it isn't one of my personal favorites in the series.

I read this when I was 8 years old and have very specific memories tied to it. It's still a great story

Revisiting these books is turning into a bit of a chore, but I'm trying to rate them based on their appeal for their target demographic.

Goosebumps. This is the series that kept me reading through my childhood. More than any other series, Goosebumps kept me interested in reading, and R.L. Stein is a wonderful children's writer. I applaud his efforts, and can't express enough my gratitude for the series.
