I listened to the audiobook...... I am giving this one a solid 4 start rating.

I am a sucker for books told from the male POV. This is no exception. It was nice to see some of the gaps filled as well as some new scenes. That scene in the elevator at the end of the book...Holy Hannah. I can see why so many readers love Jake.

This is Jake Green’s side of the story. He is a sexy, tattooed, engineer with a secret that no one knows other than his family. His mysterious whereabouts on the weekends has been kept under wraps until a blonde beauty moves into the apartment and changes the life he already has accepted was his fate.

The Olsen twins look alike, Nina Kennedy is the intriguing girl with many phobias that moves into the apartment and captures Jake’s attention. Little did she expect that a bet with the womanizing roommate would ultimately change her life along with the intense connection that begins to grow.

“Some of the most beautiful things are those we can only enjoy from afar. The unattainability makes the attraction more intense.”

I freaking love reading from the male’s perspective! It gives me the full circle of the story especially when it takes me on such an emotional ride. This second book in the series did not fall short regardless of reliving the memories of Jake & Nina story. It had me giddy, and broken, and once again mended my heart. A great 4.5 stars read into the mind of Jake!

I didn’t realize this one was a retelling of Jake and Nina’s story from Jake Undone. I really enjoyed reading about their story again and I liked the new parts that were added in. I also liked that Skylar and Mitch were part of this book as well.

This was amazing. This book was mostly Jake's POV and some of the events were also in the first book. But that wasn't bothering me at all because from Jake's POV it was different and it was so beautiful to know how he was fighting for Nina and their life. How he was protecting her, don't wanted to hurt her, but also want her so badly.
And yes, he felt love for Ivy, but that is different than his feelings for Nina. He is in love WITH Nina and can't live without her. Maybe is doesn't look different, but it is. His feelings were dripping of the pages and I honestly can say that I cried a LOT. Like, al lot lot :)
The end of this book can I only describe with the word 'perfect'. Hello, that lift-situation and all was heartwrecking. The negative thing about this book? That it has a end ;)

“Sometimes, you need to step away to realize you can't really walk away from something that's a part of you.”

We met Jake Green and Nina Kennedy in Jake Undone, released last year by Penelope Ward. Jake and Nina had an instant connection but he couldn't or shouldn't act on his attraction to Nina because of his current complicated situation. We previously got Nina's side of the story in Undone, but in Jake Understood, we get into his thoughts and the other end of the story.

"I didn't just love her. To me, she was love, was life."

I've always loved Jake and Nina's story. It's tragic and beautiful because of the major obsticles they've had to overcome in their relationship. Jake's true feelings regarding his marriage to Ivy and his new relationship with Nina are perfectly explained in the way Penelope Ward knows best, funny, sexual and heartfelt. Each word is expressed wonderfully and I could not put it down.

"I'm yours. I have never belonged to anyone before...but I know that I belong to you."

You must read Jake Undone before you read Jake Understood. It's a good idea to read Gemini and My Skylar as well because all of the characters make an appearance in this story. Well done, Penelope!

All the lovely things about Jake that I forgot.

The origami bats.

The way he helps Nina get over her anxieties.

That he doesn't abandon Ivy.

That he is really funny.

He is sexy as sin.

Some new things to learn but the book is mostly what you already know. Enjoyable. Sweet. Funny. Beautiful Nina.

This gave me just the same feeling like "Jake Undone". So emotional, dramatic and intense. I loved it.

And how good is Jake?! Too good for his own good... His beautiful and tortured soul and the way this man loves and makes sacrifices really is the best thing ever!

And the idea to have Jake telling this story to their friends is such a good way to pair insights on scenes from the previous book with what happened after. Their end was happy but challenging and their road to happy-ever-after is bumpy but the love and their chemistry are amazing.

This touching, unconventional story full of highs and lows is painful and heartmelting and completes the original story perfectly!

What a breathtaking novel this is!

There are no words to describe how I felt while reading this book.

It was everything a fan of the Gemini, Jake Undone and My Skylar could ever wish for.

It was perfect!

It isn’t just the same story, told by the male point of view. This is so much more. It is like Penelope opened a door to Jake’s mind and life. We not only saw the past through his eyes and memories, but we also got to see his future and where he is standing now.

I knew I would love this book, before I even read it. I just knew it. I absolutely adore Penelope’s work and I am certain she is incapable of writing a book I will not love.

Jake Understood is a beautiful, unprecedented masterpiece that shows the quality of Penelope Ward.

It is perfect. It really is.

She is such a creative soul that every single of her books has this Penelope magic that distinguish them from every other book out there.

Jake Understood is another example of her brilliance.

I loved every second of it!!!

I have been with these characters from the beginning. I read and reviewed Gemini, when it was newly released and I have been with Penelope since then. Her writing abilities are one of a kind, and her stories are always intense, inspiring and heartbreaking as they are heartwarming. Her characters feel like real people who just speak to you.

So, yes, I feel like I am their friend. I feel so close to this series and I couldn’t be prouder for their success.

Jake Understood is a masterfully written novel that takes the series and the characters to an even higher dimension.

Penelope, as a fan, I thank you for writing this novel, because now everything feels complete.

Jake Understood receives an Infinity of Stars, because it exudes emotion, intensity, hope and love, as well as quality in the most brilliant and creative way I have ever seen.
