Agatha Raisin and the Terrible Tourist is the sixth book in the Agatha Raisin series, a cosy murder mystery series following a retired PR-whizz who moves to the Cotswolds. Originally published in 1997, much like the other books, it does feel a bit dated. As the book takes place in Northern Cypress, where Agatha has followed her obsession, ex-fiance, and neighbour, James, the attitudes toward the Cypriots and Turks is a little uncomfortable to read. Strangely it was not as offputting as it has been in some of the other books and I did find myself enjoying it. It isn't the sort of book that you would drop everything else to read but it's a fun enough mystery, and sort enough, to keep you reading. I really, really hope that Agatha is done with James now because he is just not a good person, and she's so much better than him. I say that as someone who doesn't even like Agatha all that much. As I've been able to get these from my library I will keep reading, and look forward to the books getting more contemporary as I reach the newer books.

3. Typical Agatha Raisin. I didn’t like all the readings from the tour guidebook. The last tidbits to identify the murderer were kind of thrown in and rushed at the last minute.

Remélem a következő részben visszatér minden a megszokotthoz.

Agatha raisin is a terrible tourist! Going abroad and being mad that things like maps, and TV aren’t in English, really?! James worse than ever, not just emotionally distant but verbally abusive. I missed every day village life, and the constant change of locations was more annoying than anything. Okay murder investigation but not the best. I’ll keep reading with the hope James is out of the picture and Agatha makes better choices of lovers.

#6 ~ another one in the series ~ this one located outside of Agatha's usual stomping grounds. Local characters make for a better read, but this one was still pleasant.

Charles is right, the best options are non-James romance and being single.
