I'm really on the fence with this book. I enjoyed all the other additions to the Royally series, but I just couldn't get into this one.

In comparison to the other couples in the series, Lenora and Edward are outright boring. Out of the four we're given, they are by far my least favourite. It's not that I actively disliked either of them, but I'm decidedly neutral on them both. Thomas was probably the best character
but we pulled an obvious Bury Your Gays moment by killing him off less than halfway through so we can bring the couple together

The plot itself was rather boring as well. It takes too long to do anything interesting and even then, it's rather predictable. Any conflict that takes place between Lenora and Edward seems to wrap up so quickly that it seems superficial.

I don't know. I, overall, enjoyed this series but this one was a miss for me.

Emma Chase just knows how to get my emotions all twisted and invested in a book. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed a historical romance, the emotions I was put through where insane. Edward and Lenora story was one I wasn’t prepare for, I love the series, but this book is entirely different in a good way.

A nice, heart warming story. Great for this type of weather when all you want to do is cuddle up and read something light and easy.

The only reason I requested this book to review is because the author is Emma Chase. I was a little tired of the royal blitz happening. But I’m glad I got the book because it’s one of the most romantic books I’ve read this year. There’s no shenanigans or manipulations, it’s the joyous discovery of love between two persons.

Lenora was born Crown Princess of Wessco and as such, has spent all her life being groomed to be Queen someday. She didn’t have much of a childhood, as she was her father’s sidekick in everything he did, learning her royal role. Her sister, Miriam, is a free spirit, living and loving life. Compared to Miriam, Lenora is a babe in the woods, so protected, innocent and pure. One day she met Thomas, a young duke, her same age, suddenly thrust into political life when his father died and he inherited the title. They were like souls, made to mature too early, take on responsibilities far above their age. They found an accomplice in each other, and shared many adventures, discoveries and mischief. One of the many things they shared were the adventures of Thomas’ older brother, bad boy Edward, who broke with their father, renounced the title and fled the country. He travels the world, and sends his little brother a letter every week to share his adventures. For Lenora, he’s a dreamy person who embodies all the experiences she wants and cannot have.

There’s a part in this book where I cried like a baby. For an author who writes in such a lighthearted manner and makes you enjoy her books so much, she can also break your heart and make you cry.

Edward comes back from his travels and accepts his brother’s request to marry Lenora and protect her from all the stuffed necks that populate parliament and the advisory council. Together they discover love, and Edward discovers that all his travels had one final purpose, serve and protect Lenora. We see Lenora’s development into a successful queen who defends her country’s welfare and financial development, with Richard’s advice and support. They are the new power couple of Wessco!

This book was fantastic! Richard and Lenora have a magical courtship and I loved reading how Richard taught Lenora about love and how she was a very advanced student. Love surged because they were such a perfect couple. There were no breakups, no excessive drama, it was just a book to enjoy and savor and get dreamy about.

Such a beautiful lovely love story. Lenora was no ones doormat and Edward was just swoony. They met in a weird but funny way. It shows that Edward is not intimidated by anyone but he was intrigued by this beautiful girl. He didn’t know she was the Queen and when he found out he still didn’t care. It wasn’t easy and it took a tragic event to bring these two together. And then it was heavenly from there.

I loved how both fought for their relationship and didn’t let anyone interfere. They defended each other and were each other’s back in everything. They were the ultimate power couple. Barely any hiccups and a moment that will pause your heart but other than that simply beautiful.

A story that will take the reader back to a time when family and traditions are key and where expectations are your first priority. Lenora and Edward’s story will captivate you as they have captivated one another. Lenora has to do what is expected of the queen, while Edward has been traveling trying to find his way. They know of one another from letters, but when tragedy and duty bring them together they might have found what they have always been searching for. Get swept up in their story as Emma Chase has weaved a love story that shouldn’t be missed.

Lenora has known that she was going to be queen and knows she has to act a certain way. But when she becomes queen at a young age she thinks she will be able to do what is needed. Unfortunately times continue to dictate that she will only be taken seriously as long as she is married. With no real prospects in sight, she agrees to marry her best friend, but not all will be okay.

Edward is back from traveling the world to see his brother who is seriously ill. When he happens upon Lenora for the first time he is immediately captivated. He can’t believe that this is Lenny his brother’s friend. And when circumstances force him to agree to marry Lenny will he be able to give up his wandering ways for her and be the rock she needs?

Do they stand a chance at happiness? Or will the pressures around them be too much to overcome?

“Did you like it?” he asks.
I smile and laugh giddily.
“I liked it so much.”
I move forward and Edward pulls back, teasing me—making me chase his lips.
“How much?”
“So much . . . I want another lesson.”
He chuckles, then pulls me close across his lap and we begin all over again.
And it’s as if something inside me—some joyous part of me that I didn’t even know was sleeping—has finally been awakened, with his kiss.”

felt a bit too rushed for me but i liked it more than i thought i would once i stopped thinking for lenora as their grandmother.
