i really enjoyed the dialogue in this book. all the characters were witty and had interesting things to say. mellors’s use of metaphors and characters feelings is beautiful.
however..many of the characters in this book are clichéd and overdone. the gay best friend, the repressed alcoholic man, and the undermined latin lover. it kind of ruined the book for me a bit because i couldn’t look past the stereotypes

i’m not sure what i was expecting. it wasn’t as life changing as i was led to believe, but i certainly found it much more meaningful than most “romance” books i’ve read. relationship studies are always interesting. i like unlikeable characters as well
