I didn't love this one as much as the last, but I still had a lot of fun with it. My daughter loved Jack and Jill just as much as she did Hansel and Gretel, but she agrees that it wasn't quite as good.

I love the adventures these kids go on, they're so outrageous, disgusting, and occasionally; I'm so here for it.

I love that every chapter is kind of like its own little mini story and piece of their adventure; so every night that we sit down to read we're dying to see what kind of creature this chapter is about.

Super shout out to Eddie, who was one of the best parts of this one.

"There is a wisdom in children, a kind of knowing, a kind of believing, that we, as adults, do not have." Yes, where is the magic people?

Oh, this one is even more bloody.. more than the first one, [b: A Tale Dark & Grimm (A Tale Dark & Grimm, #1)|7825557|A Tale Dark & Grimm|Adam Gidwitz|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1345696603l/7825557._SY75_.jpg|10874302]. I don't want to spoil you about the story but it has this time a variety of fairy-tales from Hans Christian Andersen, Franz Stockton, Christina Rossetti and the Brother Grimm. Plus he, Adam, put in two or three original one's in there as well.
Conclusion. Do YOU love Fairy Tales? I, mean, the real grimmly one's? Than go, read it now.

I got this book early. Just looked at bookdepository.com and it shouldn't be out yet. No clue how they got the book 20 days before it is to come out.

But oh well. Means I could read it earlier. :)

And what a ride it was, I really hope he will make a third book, because he really writes well, and I love the narration (and it breaking the fourth wall).

I also love how he weaves multiple stories into one big one, where all the characters come together and do stuff. Jack and Jill, only now with more fun and more characters and more stories. :) I love it.

And this time it is a quest for the Seeing Glass. Bringing Jack and Jill to many different towns, creatures and people. And learning some lessons along the way.

I can't wait for a third book. :)

This was everything I hoped for and more.

First of all, as a fairy tale fanatic, I was more than pleased that Gidwitz used not only Grimm tales but the works of Anderson, Joseph Jacobs, and even Mother Goose. Alongside his thrilling original stories, this makes for an amazing, engaging tale that I liked even more than A Tale Dark and Grimm.

Again, Gidwitz used two main characters, a boy and a girl - cousins Jack and Jill. (Also a frog, who was probably my favorite character.) We following the two humans and amphibian through exciting, heart-stopping, incredibly gory stories as they search for what they want most in the world.

We meet goblins, giants, and a monster whose name I cannot spell. We travel up beanstalks, through a goblin market, into a creepy murderer's house. We gag at the disgusting scenes, gasp at treacherous plans, and cackle at Gidwitz's witty humor. Most of all, we learn - we learn the true magic of the Seeing Glass, and we learn never to answer a salamander's question.
