I hate to say it, but this is my least favorite of Sarah Addison Allen's books. Despite the magical elements, it felt less magical than her other titles. There were a few characters I loved, but most of the characters seemed flat or unrealistic. Her quirky characters didn't seem as natural as usual, and the setting was not as lovely as I was expecting. Honestly, I may have just expected too much. Allen is still one of my favorite authors and I'm eager to read her next book.

4.5. Sarah manages to create such whimsical atmospheres, combined with cozy and happy endings. Her writing is a testament that not everything has to be chaotic and adventuring and full of intrigue- some things can just be.

Not quite as magical as her other books, but still very sweet and happy. I feel like SAA books ae meant to be read under a tree on a picnic blanket in the middle of summer, but if that's not possible, snuggled down under a pile of blankets with the wind rattling the windows isn't a bad choice , either. These books make me day dreamy, which is nice any time of the year.

As always, I want to crawl into this book and never leave. Allen has a way of creating a world that is ours but just that much better that I am jealous of her characters for getting to live in it.

Resumindo, recomendo.

I just love this author. I love her characters and how imperfect and odd they are but how much you love them despite it. I love that I can never decide if magic is real or fake. I will continue to read book after book by Sarah and never regret it.
