Copy gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review.

The story picks up where the previous part left. It's so packed with so much more action and feelings. Abi is still being held captive by the new bunkers representatives and she is being questioned regarding some mysterious cases that were happening in here. But what is the worst? She is being threatened by the fellow survivalist. There is no team work here between the other bunkers and it's disappointing, that even after a huge apocalypse people are still fighting for the power. They are still greedy and don't tolerate people who are way too curious.

In here we are falling in love with Finn again *sigh*. I love that boy. And what I love more? That the author is not rushing things. The pacing between Abi and Finn is just perfect. Their feeling are blooming naturally, so there is no feeling: because we survived we have to be together. No. It feels like they were destined to be together.

Cameo's writing is just perfect. The way the story is told, compels you and pulls you in. And believe me. Few times I believed in her world.

Another amazing, perfect book. 5 Stars!

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

She's done it again!!!

I love everything Cameo has come out with so far, and this one is certainly no exception. We pick up right where we left off with the first installment, and boy is there action, drama, intrigue, you name it! I can't get enough of Finn and Abi, and I'm greatly looking forward to the rest of their journey, as well as all those involved along the way. Their hope and resolve, among many other things, are surely tested in this sequel, and we also get to meet a few new characters or are equally as interesting. When's the next one out?!?

5 stars (wish it would let me give more!)

Good read. Nice to have a young adult book where you don't want to slap the teens in it.

Sanctum by Cameo Renae picks up right where book one left off. After surviving an Arvy attack, Finn and Abi are recuperating in the government bunker’s medical wing. A mass evacuation is planned as an army of Arvies start taking out fuel stations and surrounding the bunker. They are heading for the larger bunker in the foothills of the Black Mountains. The medical wing is evacuated on the first helicopter, and Abi and Finn are on it. When the mechanical system fails short of their destination, Abi, Finn and the other survivors must find a way to survive 30 miles in the desert heat and reach the drop-off point if they have any hope of seeing their families again.

I really adore Abi and Finn! Abi is hardcore. She’s tough for a seventeen year old. She was trained to survive and fight and that is just what she does. Finn is her constant and grounds her. When she feels the strain of their situation, he shoulders the burden with her. You know it’s always a little unbelievable for me when there is a young romance like this, a soulmate type romance, but the circumstances surrounding Abi and Finn’s lives makes it realistic. They have always only had each other and their parents, no one else. They rely on each other, always have each other’s backs, and the love they have for each other is pure. I love them!

In Sanctum, Abi and Finn have to rely on each other again to survive and this time they have others they do not know to help. Their helicopter crashes about 15 miles outside a remote town. A town means shelter from the desert heat, but it also means Arvies. When they arrive in the town, they find other survivors and a means to make their drop-off point. The trade-off: help the survivors rid their town of Arvies. I have to say I’ve enjoyed the world-building and sense of camaraderie that Renae brings to each of these books. I love Abi and Finn but the other characters are just as important.

Overall I really enjoyed this installment to the series. The world-building is mostly done, so the characters drive this novel. Abi and Finn’s situation and their love for one another is beautiful to read. I love survivor stories and this is that! There’s a ton of action, some suspense, and a touch of passion. If you enjoy dystopia, clean young adult, you need to add this book to your TBR.

Set immediately after the events of Book 1, Finn is still in recovery and Abi still falls to be punished for her escapade to the restricted area with Tina. From the start, no punches are pulled and Abi is thrown into a truly terrifying situation, which has nothing to do with the Arvies. Her narrow escape from her torture is only met with yet more bad news about the Arvies, who are continuing to attack the fuel supplies. Plans to move to the larger Government bunker are speedily put into motion, the injured being the first to go, which includes Abi and Finn. Never a book to allow any plans to go right, for reasons unknown, their chopper flies off course and is spectacularly downed. Stuck with few soldiers but many wounded the group make their way to the remains of an old town and seek solace in the town Church. A small hive within the church refer to it as Sanctum. Is it their sanctuary or will it ultimately become their tomb? One things for sure, they are on a countdown and they are most definitely not alone……but when Abi has Hellfire at her side……..

Right from the get go the same relentless pace of this story continues, thrown straight back into the action, I was left horrified at idea of Abi’s first ordeal which is amazingly written in true “don’t want to read, but can’t stop reading” style. After being lulled into a sense that, actually things might be ok, the chopper goes down and we are back into familiar territory. There is a bit of a “Star Trek Away Team” feel about the Chopper Crew and their heartstopping battle to reach sanctum, the naivety of those who are new to the outside world is a necessity though, to keeping the story believable in it’s own world. I love the introduction of the Sanctum Hive, giving hope to the fact that people who weren’t mad preppers also stood a chance and they had the right mix of welcome and apprehension to the new group. Abi’s journey is particularly intriguing with the curious link she has to the Arvies, which stems back to what she witnessed whilst in the vents with Tina in book 1. Her relationship with Finn, ramps up but still in a very sweet, first time love way and is written sensitively to the genre. There are massive set pieces in this book which are spectacular in their execution and I love that the Arvies are no longer mindless mutants, but calculating and adaptive foe.

There is so much action in this book, it is again very hard to put down. It has such a cinematic feel to it, it’s a series which is crying out to be made into a franchise and I am just heading to add book 3 to my TBR!
