Clove, Tieran, Volt, and Caius are a perennial re-read for me. It's fated mates, omegaverse, and a little darkness. It tends to be a thing with Lexi Foss books to a degree, but Tieran here was a bit of a stubborn wolf (though not nearly as bad as Ander Cain in the X-Clan books). But the three guys worked well together, and Clove managed to hold her own, despite her being dropped into completely new circumstances.

Apparently it is the 4th book, but you do not need to read the rest. If you want to read a lot of spice with a bit of plot, this is it. It is a reverse harem book with shifters.

Clove was destined to mate a wolf from another pack to ally them to her pack. But when she shifts for the first time during the mating ceremony, it’s discovered that she’s from an entirely different rival pack. Turns out her mom was raped and hid it to protect her. When she is exiled to Carnage Island as a rejected mate, she meets Alpha wolves from her true pack — Tieran, Volt, and Caius. And they are determined to make her theirs.

I loved this! It’s labeled as a dark romance but I wouldn’t call it that. Sure, there are some bad things that happen (mostly off page), but the guys are so loving and devoted to her from basically the beginning. And they are so sweet to her!

The main turmoil comes into play because of Tieran’s hesitancy to claim her because he’s not sure if she can provide him with heirs that are needed as a top Alpha of his pack. But he’s so torn and still really wants her.

There is also an outside threat/mystery surrounding Clove’s past and a rival pack that all intertwines in the end. It was actually quite a suspenseful side plot!

The characters are written well and their relationship was so sweet. I loved how she included all the best things about Omegaverse — knotting, nesting, purring, and Alpha’s who are determined to praise, please and protect their mate. Perfect!

Overall this was great! I will definitely check out more from this author and highly recommend it if you like wolf shifters, Omegaverse, and reverse harem romances. Awesome combination in my book!

P.S. Also I gotta say I love this cover! Not only is it super sexy; but I appreciate the detail went into it with each of the guys being exactly where they ended up leaving their claiming mark on her (Tieran at her neck, Caius at her breast, and Volt at her thigh). So clever!

This lit such a fire in me! Lately I’ve been having issues with keeping focus with even short books, but this story captured me so quickly that I just couldn’t put it down for long.

Firstly, the characters are all so very interesting. Each ML was distinct and their own person, no carbon copies. They all vibe really well also, making their interactions just as entertaining as the interactions with them and Clove. I really enjoyed reading them the men’s pov most. Now our FL isn’t as interesting as the guys, but she has her moments. What I liked most about her was her humor and her fighting spirit. She was easy to relate to, everyone knowing the pains of betrayal and loss in some way. She suits the role as less of a character to the story… and more like a placeholder for as many readers as possible. Which isn’t bad, my opinion, and certainly serves its own purpose for some stories.

Second, the spice was great! Nothing seemed to go too far or too fast, everything going just the right way. We get see three different kinds of dom, which I enjoyed the most. Because they’re very different characters, they all have a specific way they are in the bedroom. Before even getting to the sec scenes I had guessed what kind of parter’s each of them would be, and I was pretty close on all of them. This to me shows that the author was really able to display their personalities enough in the beginning that I already knew who they were by the time we got to the sex, making all of that more intimate as well. There are quite a lot of sex scenes, but you won’t see me complaining! They all felt balanced with the intensity of the story and the pacing of the plot, everything mattered and wasn’t just thrown in for extra sexy time.

Lastly, the dynamics of the reverse harem were perfect! I can’t imagine it any other way. Each man seemed to suit a particular part of Clove perfectly. Having one as the more alpha than the others was done really well, simply because of the alpha’s personality. He was kind and sensitive and intelligent and just the right amount of domineering to lead everyone without seeming like a jerk or selfish. The relationship grows in a very natural way, each getting time with Clove to really talk and learn about each other alone. It was lovely to watch.

I will keep reading from this author and have already purchased a book she recommended at the end of this one. I’m looking forward to what else she delivers!

Perhaps it just wasn’t for me - which is surprising but, I found this had repetitive and cringey dialogue. Halfway through it became a struggle to continue. I just didn’t feel drawn to it. It was also just…odd. Not the genre, but the actions of the characters. Not a fan at all tbh
