A very well constructed pulpy romance, with intensely emotional sex scenes, tense and fun plot and decently rounded cast. A really fun read for the summer.

KJ Charles is so sharp and witty, I just love her writing and this might be my favorite of hers I've read yet.

Surprise! This historical mystery is also smutty!  I had a great time with the language and the characters and the romance. A little too much crashing of lips and a completely absurd anarchist framing (esp Libra’s characterisarion in the discussion w Darling) but I will certainly be continuing this series!

Tight story-telling, wonderfully crafted characters, elegantly simple prose. The fifth star rating was because this novel actually made me laugh aloud several times.

A fun mystery romp set in the aftermath of WW1 - the author does a delightful job capturing the tone and cadence of the era, and Will and Kim are both well rounded and complicated men who suit each other surprisingly well. The plot keeps you guessing at most turns who is on which side and why, and the ending is reminiscent of Casablanca. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
