Friends have been telling me to read this book for the past few years and I *finally* listened lol. I have friends who know me well because I absolutely loved it! I loved Henry and Alex's relationship, it was so sweet, sexy, but also incredibly heart-wrenching. It simultaneously feels so pertinent but also so hopeful (especially given the alternate-reality setting of Alex's mom being the first female President). I laughed. I sobbed. And I had the hardest time putting this book down.

I was sceptical about this book. But it is absolutly worth it. The chemistry was soo good. I loved how they send real life queer love letters to eachother. All the background characters were soo interesting and well written. Fell in love with the fantasy/current time world she wrote.

I absolutely LOVE this book! This is my 2nd time reading it, & I swear it was even better the 2nd time around.Β
Alex & Henry are just sooooo adorable it’s annoying! Lol rereading the "hate" between them at the beginning knowing what I know about the rest of the book, was just soo much more enlightening!
I cannot recommend this book enough!! And I’m so excited for the movie adaptation, they better not fuck it up for me!!

"History, huh? Bet we could make some."

After the last book I low key hated I kinda needed something to fix my reading mood so I grabbed this (lol reading this while the coronation of a new british king was happening was lowkey funny). It's lighthearted fun. I don't feel i will be obsessed with it like the others. Will not think it to be top 10 best lgbt books or anything. The comparisons to Young Royals now feel a bit insulting to young royals since I feel like they've been handling the topic better. Like it's clearly a book that's written in reaction to 2016 election. If it was straight I would call it trashy romance book but of course because it's gay that's a level that elevates it.Β  I enjoyed it a lot but just don't consider it some great quality of writing.
In any case it did it's job. It did what it was supposed to do
