I so enjoyed all of the ladies stories in the Elite Guardians series. This one covers Irish lass Haley Callaghan, and the secrets from her past that are going to catch up with her, and soon. Sad to see these end, but lots more great books ahead for me to read!

I really enjoyed this book.

This is the final book in the Elite Gaurdians series. I really enjoyed the story and really enjoyed how the book closed the book series.

I loved learning about Haley and her past. I really loved how her and her friends help each other through all the things that has gone in this book.

I again could not figure out who was behind all of the things that happened.

This was an amazing finale to a series and can't wait to read more from this author.

Nice conclusion to the series :)

Haley's backstory was so interesting, probably my favorite one. I had many suspects but I'm terrible at discovering the bad guy haha the only one I got it right was in the second book.

It was action packed as always but for some reason I didn't buy the romance. It was all too fast, somewhat like the others. I guess a lot was going on and I hoped that this one would be a bit different since Haley was already taking care of the boys and Steven still had a lot with his family.

A bodyguard being the focus of the very protection she normally provides... Sounds interesting, and I enjoyed 'Moving Target' which was the book before this in the series.
Too bad this one just wasn't as good.

I love Lynette Eason's writing style. She's got a good flow, and I enjoyed that.
For me, I felt this book had too many plot/sub plots that were cliched or predictable. Things weren't linked, but they were, or wait... maybe not. Confused? Me too.
Some of this book felt out of place until the last chapter, which was a little too late for me. It lost me somewhere in the first third.

I liked the sparks of plot ideas, but those weren't explored and the actual story fell flat.
I would have preferred less going on, focussing on only 1 or 2 story points and going deeper in those.

Again, Lynette writes beautifully! This one, just wasn't for me.

This was probably my favorite book in this series. The backstory was very detailed and unique, the plot interesting and intriguing. I think what made this book more interesting was the fact there were a lot more people in it. The past ones had a very limited amount of characters, making the culprit a lot less obvious. I will say that I wasn't really into the romance of this book all that much. I thought she was going to end up with someone else in the beginning, and when the real "hero" came into the picture, I was a bit disappointed. I never really felt the chemistry between them personally, it kinda felt forced and all based on "instant attraction" which was annoying in my personal opinion. The guy coming into the story felt kinda random, truth be told, and that's why I thought it would be someone else. When he appeared in the picture, I just kinda stopped and said... "why not this other guy? Why add someone else in?" But like I said, that's my personal opinion. It was a light, good read. Not the best I've read, not the worst. I will also say I was a bit disappointed with the culprit, the reasoning behind was a little...bland? Not that interesting and there was no emotional connection. Overall, good but not great book.

The conclusion to the Elite Guardians series was good, but not my favorite in the series.

It details Halley's story she she comes to terms with her past.

I thought there were too many storylines that didn't really fit together as well as they could have, especially the Richie storyline. I did enjoy learning about Halley's background though, and I liked the theme of forgiveness.

There was quite a lot of action in the final showdown which was good, but I did manage to guess who was behind it all.

A 25-year-old murder. A teenager who needs protection. A long-forgotten past. An intriguing new cop on the police force. These things converge to take Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan on a ride she'd never anticipated in the finale of Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians series.

Though Lynette Eason writes fast-paced suspense, she always manages to make her characters the focal point of her novels. This is once again the case in Chasing Secrets, which sees Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan fighting for her own life while she also seeks to protect Zeke, a teen boy threatened by his mother's boyfriend. Haley is an incredibly intriguing and likeable character, and I was immediately drawn into her story. Steven, a detective with the Columbia police force, is interesting in his own right—he's more than just a potential romantic partner for Haley; he has his own compelling story.

While the suspense level isn't as high in Chasing Secrets as it was in Moving Target, the previous book in the series, I still found myself flying through the pages as I tried to determine who was out to get Haley. (All of my guesses turned out to be wrong, by the way!) The beginning of the novel did feel a little slow and disjointed as various characters were introduced, but overall, I greatly enjoyed my reading experience. This is a fitting conclusion to Eason's Elite Guardians series, and I can't wait for Oath of Honor, the first book in her upcoming Blue Justice series!

Disclosure of material connection: I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and the opinions expressed are my own.

This was as interesting and exciting as the other books in the series. It was good to know Haley's story and I enjoyed seeing those old friends from the other books. Having the book hook up with happening in Ireland was different. Both Haley and Steven were very nice people. I did wonder how Steven was able to be around so much as a new employee. Since several others have joined the Elite Guardians perhaps there will be more in the series at a later date. Hopefully!

About this book:

“Elite Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan may be in South Carolina, but when a photo leads investigators in West Ireland to open a twenty-five-year-old cold case, her life is suddenly in danger. Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she's made a career out of taking care of others. But after an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her--and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he's not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.
In a sweeping plot that takes them into long-buried memories--and the depths of the heart--Haley and Steven will have to solve the mystery of Haley's past while dodging bullets, bombs, and bad guys who just won't quit.”

This is the last of this series and it's bittersweet to say the least. I've really enjoyed seeing all these tough women take down baddies and fall in love.
Since the first book, I've been looking forward to learning Haley's story--and was a story it is.
While this novel did take on a more sensitive role with all the mentions of murders of children and minors, I knew that Haley (& Steven too) would find out who was behind it all. I love reading Christian suspense because there's always a hope of good in all the well done books, like this one! :)

I liked this book, but I think I would have liked it more if it was a stand alone. I just found too many similarities between the characters in this series . Especially because I read them in a row, I felt like I was reading the same story. (Even though the things they went through were different, it was like they reacted the same exact way) maybe it would have been better if they were all about the same person.

Also they all ended the same which was really annoying.
