A bright and cheerful book featuring Asterix and Obelix trying to look after an abandoned baby that kept getting access to the magic potion.
These books are full of bright, fun and delightful characters who go on various adventures and get to beat up a bunch of Roman soldiers. Accompanying the story and the characters is a plethora of clever puns and word play that the translators should get a medal for. There are always a few gags or phrases in Latin that may mean nothing to the non-Latin speakers (such as myself) but Google can lend a helping hand there.

This is the only time the Romans successfully attack and destroy the village, although Caesar promises to have it rebuilt. Uderzo reportedly said he received a lot of criticism for not setting the final banquet in the village. Like Asterix in Switzerland, this album presents a rare dark tone as it touches on the possibility of an innocent's murder.

A baby is left in front of Asterix's hut and nobody knows how it got there. Of course, the Romans are after it and it gets its little hands on some magic potion.
This one relies on puns and stereotypes for humor.

Asterix and Obelix comics are always fun to read. I know Asterix is the hero of the series but my personal favorites are Obelix and Dogmatix. Add a baby - high on magic potion - to the mix and you have a party on your hands.

Started this as sort of a half hearted, eh why not read and found myself enjoying it more than expected!
It's an utterly silly romp with a cute baby, a very surprised bachelor and his hetrosexual life partner, and mystery, fun and good laughs for all!
Exactly the kind of enjoyable read for a Sunday in the rain!

Asterix & Obelix är en stor del av min barndom, så jag är inte det minsta objektiv i hur mycket jag gillar de här serierna nu - men, när är jag egentligen det? Hur som helst en rolig serie men som naturligtvis åldrats en del!
