I gave this book 4 stars because it made me reflect on my own life — I wasn’t expecting it to.
However, the book itself is a bit cliche. I think the concept of the book is wonderful, the writing style could just be stronger.

I hate when the ending of a book is so good it bumps its star rating up one. The ending was so good but the rest of the book was kind of bland and slow.

I put every possible content warning I saw the minor ones were pretty much just mentioned by the word and same with a few of the moderate ones but they repeated a bit.

Having just finished another novel where the character gets sucked into books…this one was way better. The Midnight Library narrates Nora’s path to finding reasons to live. The book brings up philosophy and existentialism in a very accessible and still concrete way (though the story is somewhat limited in scope). The book feels like a combination of The Good Place and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I felt connected with Nora’s experiences and found great value in the message about overcoming regret, creating purpose, and growing as humans.

I thought this book was fine. A bit predictable and a touch preachy. Otherwise, it was a fun perspective on live and the constant wonder of "what if".
